DULUTH, MN—Duluth-based law firm Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick, P.A. recently announced the addition of attorney Brandon Zumwalt.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Zumwalt moved to Minnesota in 2005 to attend St. Olaf College, where he graduated cum laude. He went on to earn his juris doctor degree from William Mitchell College of Law.
Zumwalt’s practice primarily focuses on civil litigation, employment law, and landlord/tenant matters. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyers’ Rising Star throughout his career. Having begun his legal career in family law, he remains especially passionate about adoption law, a field he finds deeply fulfilling for its role in bringing families together.
Outside of his work at Fryberger, Zumwalt was recently appointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court to serve on the General Rules of Practice Committee.
“Joining Fryberger has been a great experience,” said Zumwalt. “The flexibility and level of respect within this team is unmatched. It’s a good fit.”
Zumwalt brings a balanced background of legal experience in both large metropolitan areas and small towns—making him particularly well-suited to serve St. Louis County’s unique mix of urban and rural communities.
“We’re happy to welcome Brandon to the team,” said Fryberger President Mia Thibodeau. “He’s a skilled attorney, and his experience will be a great asset to our clients.”
When not practicing law, Zumwalt enjoys hiking, fishing, and camping with his wife, three daughters, and their chocolate lab, Fika.
