DULUTH, MN—Duluth-based law firm Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick, P.A. recently announced the addition of attorney Nicholas J. Simonson to their Duluth office.
Simonson was raised in Valley City, North Dakota and attended the University of Florida, graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. A third-generation lawyer, he next attended law school at the University of North Dakota School of Law in Grand Forks. There, he was active in moot court, winning the competition twice and being named “Best Orator.” He also served as the Student Bar Association President, was unanimously selected to the Order of the Barrister, and was a captain on the undefeated intramural football team “Rough Justice.”
At Fryberger, Simonson will be focused on labor and employment law for the firm’s clients throughout the upper Midwest. “With more than 12 years in corporate law and labor relations,” says Simonson, “I have really come to enjoy working with companies large and small, helping them sort out day-to-day legal and business matters, and assisting with their employment law, HR decisions and contracting processes. When such an opportunity came up with Fryberger, I jumped at the chance to share my experience and abilities with the firm’s clients.”
When Simonson isn’t practicing law, he and his wife Angie are busy chasing after their boys, AJ and Jackson, their lab, Ole, and their German shepherd, Lena — or he’s sharing his passion for the outdoors through his syndicated, regular and freelance writings in more than four dozen newspapers, magazines and websites throughout the upper Midwest.
