DULUTH, MN — Duluth-based law firm Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick, P.A. recently announced the addition of attorney Dan Burns.
Burns grew up in Tampa, Florida. He attended the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and graduated magna cum laude in 2011. Burns then found his way to Minnesota where he studied at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. After graduating in 2016, Burns decided to stay in Minnesota and gained experience in the public finance sector of law. Recently Burns was named a 2024 Minnesota Rising Star. Only 2.5% of lawyers are awarded this achievement yearly.
“After graduating law school, I was introduced to the world of public finance,” said Burns. “It is a pretty niche industry and I’ve enjoyed getting to know the other public finance attorneys in the region, especially those at Fryberger.” He is excited to join the team and is ready to bring his knowledge to the firm.
Burns’ connection to Duluth goes back generations. His great-grandfather worked on the iron ore ships in the 1930s and his grandfather worked with auto dealers in the area in the 1980s.
“It is so nice to keep my family’s connection to this beautiful area going,” said Burns.
When Burns isn’t practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children and preparing for a fifth on the way.
